Kristine McKinney is a seasoned drug discovery leader dedicated to discovering and developing transformative medicines for cancer patients.
Dr. McKinney has held multiple roles at Moderna, all focused on advancing innovative applications of mRNA as a therapeutic. Currently, she leads the Cancer Vaccines Research team, who are working to expand the portfolio to deliver impactful treatments for more patients.
Her initial work at Moderna began in New Venture Labs, where she spearheaded efforts to design novel mRNA cargoes for oncology and immuno-oncology therapeutic applications. In addition, Dr. McKinney led the Target Biology and Translational Medicine team at Arrakis Therapeutics, where she advanced RNA-targeted small molecule drug discovery through innovative target validation and screening paradigms and contributed to portfolio strategy development.
With a Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Columbia University and postdoctoral training at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Dr. McKinney has built a career at the forefront of translational science and therapeutic innovation. She is committed to advancing treatments that address critical unmet needs for patients.
